Do you offer support and upgrades?

We offer support only to issues concerning to this software, but be aware that we sell this software “as is”… we do not perform especial customizations and/ or special requirements. We offer free upgrades until version 2.0.

Does POS works with credit cards?

You should get the service of automatic and electronic credit car processing and card reading device. However, you can type information of the credit card and make the transaction manually (but is not recommended maintain sensible data like credit card number etc)

Is this POS compatible with PHP 4 and PHP 5?

Yes, it does.

Is there a version for Oscommerce 2.3, besides of 2.2 saga?

No yet, currently there is not to many stores using 2.3; but, in the future, we are going to adapt Point of sale for Oscommerce 2.3, when the 2.3 version gain more popularity.

Can I share this POS code?

You can share and modify files that are under the GNU General Public License, other files that are new files may be under COPYRIGHT license or notice; in order to share those you can create your own files and code that works with the files under under the GNU General Public License.

Does POS only run with internet access?.

No, it doesn’t. You can install your oscommerce based cart on your PC instead of the server… but why do you want that?… the idea is to have an online store but at the same time to have a physical store; not only have physical store; if that is your case we recommend to get another POS solution which can be found from a wide variety of options even free POS solutions.

We know that in some countries the internet access is so expensive, and the charge is for time connected, on this case the connection have to be performed only when a sale or another typical POS transaction is executed (1-3 minutes per transaction).

What are the system requirements?

Since the code is executed form the server, trough a regular web browser (Firefox, Explorer); you need the fallowing running on your server:

• PHP 4 to PHP 5x.

• MySQL

• Oscommerce-2.2 to Oscommerce-2.2rc2a

• Sourceguardian loader, most hosting providers have it installed by default; but, if this is not the case you can ask them to install it. most of them are willing to install sourceguardian loader, also,  Sourceguardian staff are happy to speak with them on your behalf. Supporting  customers is important to Sourceguardian. Please refer to the loader installation page for more information.

  Also we can provide the loader to be installed by yourself, but, in order to avoid conflicts or problems on installation, ask first to your hosting provider.
